Fall Celebration 2017

September 27 - October 1, 2017

Marietta, GA - Life University

To Our 2016 Attendees

Thank you for attending Fall CElebration 2016. From the comments of many of the attendees, this has been the best weekend yet. There was certainly a lot to celebrate during the five-day event. Some of you who hadn’t seen our campus in awhile took advantage of our campus walking tours, getting a chance to see, up-close, just how much change and progress has touched our beautiful campus in recent years. Many of you came out to our 2nd annual Thirsty Thursday event, getting a taste of all our terrific vendors that were on site, and that graciously help us provide the most affordable CE event in our profession.

On Friday, those who attended the Plenary session heard President Guy Riekeman, D.C., one of the greatest leaders in the history of Chiropractic, speak about the chiropractic profession from its inception to the challenges that exist today. Many of you attended the Lasting Purpose Pool re-dedication where we unveiled a restored landmark of our institution that is a physical testament to LIFE’s guiding principle of Lasting Purpose: To Give, To Do, To Love, To Serve — Out of a Sense of Abundance. It was a special night for the Classes of 1981 and 1986, who celebrated their 35th and 30th reunions with a great dinner and even more terrific time of fellowship in Socrates Café.

In addition to a line-up of dynamic speakers, Saturday had a rugby game and back-to-back Life U soccer matches. The last match led into the Alumni & Friends Party held at the renovated lower athletic field, now known as Lupo Family Field. It was a truly historic ceremony where Dr. Joe Lupo and his family were honored by the naming of the field, B.J. Palmer’s Cadillac made a grand appearance and the Classes of ’81, ’86, ’91, ’96, ’01, ’06 & ’11 celebrated their reunions. The party was appropriately culminated by a beautiful fireworks display.

We want to give special thanks to those that decided that weekend to help recruit students, make financial gifts and be future class reunion chairs. We have already started to work on next year’s event, and we invite you to join us next year. Save the Date: Wednesday, September 27-Sunday, October 1, 2017. Thank you again!

A Note to Our Guests

Dear Fall CE-lebration Guests, test

We, the faculty and staff of Life U, are honored to work together as a community to host the most affordable CE event in Chiropractic where Guests can earn as many as 36 CE credits. For our 1,700 Guests that attend, we work diligently to improve Fall CE-lebration each year to serve you better.

This year we want to improve the fairness factor regarding CE credits.

In the last two years, we’ve noticed an increase in the number of Guests “scamming” in and out, instead of “scanning” in and out. Let us explain.

What is “scamming”?

•When a Guest scans in and out, but never actually attended the class
•When a Guest scans in using a badge other than his or her own
•When a Guest scans in multiple badges

How does scamming hurt Life U?

•All of the above behaviors can – and often do - result in attendance records that show more Guests having participated in the class than we have seats. This is a huge red flag to the auditors.
•It’s unfair to both those who spent the time attending and to those who couldn’t get into a class that showed that it was full.
•It’s unfair to our speakers who would enjoy presenting to more Guests.
•It also hurts our sense of integrity as a community, when faculty and staff observe our Guests attempting (and sometimes succeeding) to gain credit for CE hours they didn’t earn; we end up feeling as though all our hard work as Hosts isn’t serving Guests, but rather is accommodating party crashers.

So this year we ask everyone to stay within the CE earning model. Everyone will appreciate it. To help us serve you better, please carefully read the Helpful Hints and the FAQ about how CE credits are earned. Please also take a look at both lists to find out how you can assist us in ensuring you get credit for all the CE hours you earn.

LIFE's philosophy on Continuing Education

Based upon a vitalistic approach to health and the correction of the vertebral subluxation complex, LIFE views health care in the following manner:

► CONDITION-BASED CARE
Care that is provided to the patient for a specific health issue until that health issue is resolved or stabilized.

► CORRECTIVE-BASED CARE
Care that is provided to the patient who either had no specific health issue at entrance or the health issue at entrance was resolved/stabilized by the condition-based care. The corrective-based care phase presumes that the patient has clinical findings consistent with subluxation or another health issue that is asymptomatic but requires correction through the point of maximum possible correction.

WELLNESS DEVELOPMENT-BASED CARE Care provided to the patient who has minimal or no consistent or persistent clinical findings. Care is provided for the purpose of reaching optimal performance within the aspects of Physical, Emotional, Social, Intellectual, Environmental and Spiritual well-being.

This vitalistic approach to health divides our continuing education offerings into the chiropractic-related courses, and courses whose content is offered through degree programs throughout the University.
